Objectives

“Defend the rights and interests of associated companies: large representation.”

Getxo Empresarial y Comercial-Getxo Enpresa eta Merkataritza (GEYC-GEEM) is the Association which represents, focuses, manages and defends the interests of the companies in Getxo in general and the ones from its members in particular.

In order to fulfil this objectives, GEYC-GEEM promotes and is a member of the following forums:

• Consumer Arbitration Association from Euskadi, administration route which permits to solve conflicts between consumers and companies. GEYC is a representative arbiter from the business sector.
• GEYC-GEEM Work Commissions, integrated by businessmen from our Association who are the communication channels for the needs and demands of each of the sectors in the municipality.
• Getxo’s Local Business Board, where representatives from the City Council, Basque Government and GEYC-GEEM take part, was created to raise, analyse and solve questions related to these institutions which affect the economic activity from the municipality in general, and more specifically to the associated companies.
• Environment Local Forum, municipal consult entitycomposed by representatives of the different associations in Getxo. GEYC-GEEM represents municipality’s business sector.

“Promote Getxo economically.”

Para cumplir este objetivo la Asociación realiza, entre otras, estas actuaciones:

• Promote and run municipality’s business activity in general, and that ofits members in particular,designing ways to clients’ loyalty and promoting associationism.
• Project and place Getxo’s image as the core of business activity, emphasizing the quality of the companies that form part of the Association.   
• Make Getxo’s residents and local authorities aware of the importance of maintaining a consistent business network as a wealth generator and as a way to improve the quality of life of the municipality’s inhabitants.
