During November, Getxo Empresarial y Comercial-Getxo Enpresa eta Merkataritza (GEYC-GEEM) distributes a free diary for the following year between associated companies, institutions, public organisations and promoting companies.

Promotion campaign of Getxo's Business Sector

The purpose of the Promotion Campaign of Getxo's Business Sector is to increase the appeal of the city council and the associated companies; to enhance the loyalty of the neighbours and clients of Getxo; and to increase the economic activity of the companies of the city council in general and of the associates in individual, during Christmas celebrations.

Associated companies gift to their clients package tours to national and international destinations.

The Promotion Campaign, which GEYC-GEEM has undertaken since 2005, consists of: associated companies selected randomly by a notary gift package tours to national and international destination to the first client who - at a time when a representative of the Association appears in the establishment, along with one of the promoters of the activity - makes a purchase, a contract or uses a service.

GEYC-GEEM will work to increase the impact of next editions of the Promotion Campaign of Getxo's Business Sector, and also to increase their impact between the present and potential clients of the associated companies, comparing with the results obtained in the last editions.

Christmas lights decoration

For more than twenty years, GEYC-GEEM has managed and coordinated the Christmas lights that are displayed in the streets of the city council in which companies are located. By lighting, acclimating and adorning the lights, the hope is that potential clients find the surroundings more attractive and thus contribute to an increase in that companies economic activity during the Christmas period, in which the consumption rises in an important way.

The objective is to light up and decorate the streets of Getxo in which companies are located, so that the clients find their surroundings more attractive and increase their activity

To the companies that participate in the activity and are located in the streets which are set and lit up, GEYC-GEEM distributes a distinctive poster with a double objective: they can differ from other companies in the same street that haven’t helped with the Christmas lightening; and at the same time the neighbours of the city council and visitors know that these companies contribute to the decorating and lighting up of Getxo during the Christmas celebrations.
